Use the HSF that comes with the CPU - it's so quiet you will not want the other one.

I've never once bought an after market CPU cooler as the stock ones have always been perfectly fine and quiet enough.

Unless you're overclocking it's a waste of beer tokens... er, I mean money.

I bought a Thermalrite SK6 once. I swear aircraft pilots were complaining about the noise as they flew over.

True story.

Screw that, this baby's going to run at 4.6 GHz !

Also, Amazon offer the OEM cpu which I bought, ebuyer only offer retail.

Oh and yes, I did succumb, its all on its way. I was left in the cold by my cant-be-arsedness.

So that was painless, put in mobo/cpu/memory, attached SSD, 2 raided drives and 2 unraid drives, powered up, after a brief windows repair to update the MBR (because the boot disk had moved), bingo. booted straight up, raid disks recognised. Just a few extra drivers to install.

I was all ready for pain and potential re-install. Almost feel ... let down by the lack of grief.

BF3 is loading so much quicker with more fps too ... yum.

That Corsair memory deal on the Vengeance 8GB is bloody brilliant. Just ordered some for myself.

Other sellers want £53 ish plus delivery!

I agree in principle, as backed up for others to read rinky dink.

However, Task Manager does seem to be eating into the top 4 GB, whether programs are using this program space is another question. It is a 64 bits OS and still 99% of games/apps are still 32 bit :(

I swear BF3 is loading faster into memory ... could be the old placebo effect, dunno.

You should be able to get the 32bit BF3 executable to be large address aware and use 4GB rather than 2GB
