It's my birthday and I want to get a nice camera.
I love taking landscape and sunset/sunrise shots, isn't nature wonderful but my lovely point and shoot digital doesn't do it for me now and I think I need an upgrade.
I could get a better point and shoot one but I think that for double the price I could get a reasonable DSLR.

Been on a few websites looking for em, and most seem to be stuck in 2008.

Any ideas and recomendations?

Depends on budget, what you want to be able to do with it etc.

I'm a bit of a Canon fanboy, and i started off with the 450D, which i can't really recommend highly enough, it was awesome. But there's already a 500D i think and did i read that there was a 550D or something imminent? If your budget is more tight there's also the older models of the 350 and 400 which i'm sure are also both v good and could likely be had for not much at this stage.

Kit lens that comes with the 450D is excellent too, which is a bonus.

I can get the 450 with a 18-55 lens for £450 and you get a free £30 cashback from Canon.

Yea that's the standard deal. If that's within your budget i'd say go for it - it's a great starter SLR, the image quality is extremely good.

Aye, nowt wrong with the 450 m8, great camera and loads of resources out there for it since it's so popular.
