Tried to turn on my camera this morning in anticipation of the Derbyshire County Show, only to be disappointed that the lens won't extend/retract properly, and nor does the LCD appear (im assuming because the lens does not extend). It's well out of warranty now, and the Koday repair fee is between £49 and £90 - no thanks?!

Anyone got any ideas if this is fixable at home, or should I just give up the ghost and get a new camera. It hasn't been dropped/exposed to water or anything like that, so i'm truly mystified.

If it looks like a new camera, recommendations for a modest budget are recommended.

Yeah, i've done all the battery checks as recommended by Kodak. I scouted the web and some others have also had similar problems, it sounds like the lens might be off its rails. At this stage i'm leaning toward getting a new camera.
