One of the guys at work reckons when you play online poker that some of the players use "scanners" to see your hand or to see what cards have been dealt. He says you can tell when they're being used because you get interference on your screen.

I must admit I have noticed lines appearing on my screen, but then my GFX is pretty fucked, it sounds to me like he's talking shit because I just don't see how it's possible. I mean they'd need your IP surely, then to get around your firewall, AV and antispy software ........

Urban Myth ?

Anyone confirm that ?

It isn't an urban myth, it's complete bollocks.

Even if they were, it would be unrelated to your scanlines.

Yeah, thought so. He's not particularly IT literate (not that I'm claiming expert status either).
