Just been sorting through my mods and thought I'd spread the wealth, this is a list of my current mods, what they do and where to get them (can you tell I use Curse.com?).

Auctioneer
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... oneer.aspx
The daddy of all AH mods, and frankly FAAAR to complicated for casual users. If I could find a mod which just told me average AH prices on mouse over of items, plus what items will vendor for on mouse over, I'd be happy. In the mean time this bloatware is the best there is, and it is a work of art to be fair.

Bag Status Meters
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... rs-ng.aspx
Lots of options to show you how many bag slots you have left/used/just filled etc. I use it as it's most basic which gives me a white number by each bag saying how many slots I have free. It does it better than the default interface option.

Cartographer
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... apher.aspx
Player coordinates, pre-written instance notes, instance maps, ability to add map notes, zone information, adjustable main map and much more. Really tidy mod for all your outdoor and instance map needs.

CT RaidAssist
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... ssist.aspx
Not used it in a long time but always there ready to show me everyone's HP etc in raids.

CTMailMod
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... l-mod.aspx
Outdated but still gives a 'select all/open selected' option in your mailbox. I use this on my bank alt for mass opening mails and downloading attachments to my inventory.

Examiner
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... miner.aspx
Enchanced 'inspect' add on, it remembers what you've inspected so it doesn't matter if people walk away or even if you log off, it remembers their items for later review.

FlightMap
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... t-map.aspx
I use it to show me how long until I land on a flight. Does other stuff too. One mod I would recommend disabling for WotLK as it will show you where flight masters are rather than discovering them for yourself. One of those mods that's good when you already know stuff and it won't spoil the surprises.

Flo Aspect Bar
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... t-bar.aspx
An extra toolbar for Hunters like the pet skills toolbar which houses all your Aspects. Hunters have the most crowded interface IMO, and this saves slots.

Flo Totem Bar
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... m-bar.aspx
I use this on my hunter for traps, just like Flo Aspect Bar it gives an extra tray to house icons. Also works for Shaman Totems.

Gatherer
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... herer.aspx
Remembers where you gathered stuff (ore, herbs etc) and puts an icon on the main map and mini map to remind you so you can go back later and try to gather again.

Gryphons remover
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... mover.aspx
Removes the gryphons graphics from the main toolbar to free up some screen real estate.

MonkeyBuddy
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... buddy.aspx
MonkeyQuest
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... quest.aspx
Monkey Quest is the daddy of quest log addons, just a much much better interface than Blizzard's default. MonkeyBuddy is needed to configure MonkeyQuest font sizes and a few other things.

Open All Bags
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... -bags.aspx
Opens all your bags when you talk to a vendor, banker, AH etc.

Pally Power
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... power.aspx
Uber buffing management for Paladins. Not a big fan myself (yet) and am going to try out a couple of alternatives as noted below.

Petster
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... tster.aspx
I just use this to give me a 'feed pet' button on my Hunter. One click feeding. Sorted. That said since the new patch and the new skills I haven't had to feed my pet once, he's always ecstatically happy.

Quest Helper
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... elper.aspx
If I had to have one mod only, it would be this. Awesome awesome questing mod which is awesome. Got a quest? This puts icons on the map telling you where to go and a bloody great arrow to point you in the direction on your main screen. You can add your own waypoints, and it adds info to your tooltips when you mouse over a mob you need for a quest. Got lots of quests? This tells you where to go and which order is optimum. Not perfect, but much much better than frequent trips to thottbot etc. This mod I would recommend is switched off if you're doing zones for the first time though, it would spoil the exploration. So very very good for levelling alts though. Also works with people you're grouped with, it tells you where THEIR quests are and what they need. Just godly.

Recipe Book
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... equip.aspx
When looting it will tell you if that recipe you just picked up can be learned by one of your alts, or whether they already know it.

Smart Debuff
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... ebuff.aspx
Tells you who needs a debuff removed and what type of cleanser to use. One click purification.

Spam Sentry
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... dspam.aspx
Got a level 1 character called xjeomnvdmewmt randomly messaging you with cheap gold offers? Then you clearly don't have Spam Sentry...

Those are all the ones I currently use, these are some I've been looking at today to replace some outdated mods, so I can't vouch for how good they are yet.

AzCastBar
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... t-bar.aspx
or
Quartz
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... uartz.aspx
I want to look at both these mods (will choose one or the other) as replacements for eCastingBars. This is for casters only obviously, and the function I'm after adds a section to your cast bar showing your latency at the time of casting. The thing is you can interrupt your casts in this latency zone and they will still cast, in other words you can cast faster. By my reckoning and others I've seen it equates to roughly an 8% DPS increase. You will need to create casting macros that look like;
/stopcasting
/cast frostbolt
So that when your current cast is in the latency zone, you click that macro'd spell and it interrupts your own casting harmlessly and casts the next thing. Quite simply, you can cast spells faster than you think. Should work with all caster types. As Mage is my only caster class I can highly recommend it if only for one thing alone - Ice lance/frostbolt double hits on frozen targets. So you've got a target rooted, you're casting frostbolt and whilst frozen all your frost spells crit. So when frostbolt gets into the latency zone, slap the ice lance macro button and both the frostbolt and icelance will crit hitting for 4k+ instantly (at level 70 in basic gear). That shizzle will hurt anyone.

Sell-o-matic
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... matic.aspx
Adds a button to vendors which upon clicking sells everything grey in your invetory. You can also add 'always sell' and 'always keep' lists too. Makes emptying full bags after a days murdering fluffy animals much quicker.

Simple Mount Equip
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... equip.aspx
Swaps your equipped items with items in your inventory upon mounting (matron) and unswaps them again when you dismount. Great for riding crops, enchated boots of speed, and double entendres (sp?).

Message Redirect
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... irect.aspx
"You do not have enough energy for that action"
"You do not have enough energy for that action"
"You do not have enough energy for that action"
"You do not have enoug..." die already!
Gets rid of messages like that to clear the screen of unnecessary messages.

ZOMGBuffs
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... buffs.aspx
Alternative Buff mod, not tried it yet but I'm hoping to replace Pally Power with this. Ohhh for the return of WCRebuff which simply watched what you buffed and reminded you when it was time to do it again. All these modern mods try to be so clever and suggest what you should do rather than just copying what you do. Sigh...

Oh, and lol @ this guy http://uk.videogames.games.yahoo.com/blog/article/868/

Auctioneer
I use this and like it... i'd prefer it to be much smaller though

Bag Status Meters
Try using OneBag & Fubar_BagFu, it's much better

Cartographer
Also get Simpleminimap... it'll add coords to your minimap

CT RaidAssist
I use Grid... give it a whirl

MonkeyBuddy
MonkeyQuest
Fubar_QuestFu is better imo

Open All Bags
see OneBag

Quest Helper
Going to try it now

Smart Debuff
Also try decursive

Spam Sentry
love it

AzCastBar
Quartz
Quartz is AMAZING... it even helps you compensate for lag

Sell-o-matic
essential imo

Simple Mount Equip
I used to use closet gnome, because it can also do Fire resist gear/shadow resist gear etc, but closet gnome mount is broken atm

Slight correction to what I wrote above about QuestHelper, it DOESN'T put arrows on your main screen, Cartographer does that, though QH does put an arrow on your minimap.

I'll check out your recommendations Kaz, ta :)

OneBag is the best bag mod I've seen so far.

QuestHelper is brilliant.

X-Perl UnitFrames is also brilliant. Replaces the entire UI, taking away those horrible gryphons and all the clutter and replacing everything with a nice clean UI.

Dominos for the bars. Up to 10 bars for action buttons, fully configurable (resize, move, key-bindings, opacity, etc).

MinimapScroll is dead handy. Lets you zoom in and out by using your mouse scroll wheel on the minimap.

Best mod I've got is Healbot. If you're a healer class it's just amazing. Healing in parties/raids it'll cut your over/underheals down to practically nothing and just running around solo it makes things much simpler. It'll just give you a health bar for yourself and anyone in your party or raid. Left-click will cast what it thinks is the best heal for healing whatever amount of health is actually lost, at as low a mana cost as possible.

Promac... I hate to tell you this...

Check the Mana cost of healing a low rank spell... it's the same as high rank! basically the priest has now only got flash heal and greater heal.

90% of priest raid healing uses neither of those spells, Prayer of healing is so powerful in places like that.

Mending is essential - though they swapped the aggro focus to the healer, which is a bit annoying and for 5 mans binding heal was always usefl.

Baggins mod > all other bag mods

It virtualises your bag into compartments ...putting quest items together, armor, weapons ..etc etc.

the compartments are governed by expressions/properties which you can edit, so you can create your own compartments and stuff. Save you wondering what it looks like ..

Image

I'll also second Healbot. It puts up a small dialog with a heal bar for each group member. Left, Middle, Right click can be configured to cast different spells, so as a shammy, i have lesser healing wave, chain heal, healing wave. Hold down Alt click, and suddenly left click is cure poison, right click is cure disease. As you hover over the members heal bar, you get a small tooltip to remind you which click does what. Also indicates the amount of heal each spell will do.

I was without it for a while and it's definately alot more work without it :o)

I've used all those bag mods and Tbag > than them all (+ it has the best name)

My other bestest stuffs

Quartz - Castbar
Pitbull - UI. Took me 3 hours to configure it to how i wanted it. If you want a specific layout and can spend the time this is for you. It also has raid frames but i've disabled them to use grid.
Forte Warlock - Everything you'll need for a lock but also supports other classes (cooldowns, dot timers, etc)
OmniCC - Cooldown counter on button bars
Bartender4 - Bar mod
Parrot - Better than SCT (Scrolling combat text)
Minimalist - Auto loot, auto skip shit gossips, auto sell greys, lots of auto options :)
Broker mods - Fubar is dead and a massive memory hog.
Itemrack - For changing gear quickly when someone jumps me with my fishing rod on.
Postal - mail mod that does everything
Grid - Raid layout, fully changable to show anything (incoming heals, debuffs, buffs)
oRA2 - Because anything with CT in front of it sucks. (tank targets and stuff)
Gathermate - bit like gatherer but better. Can import data dumps straight from wowhead.
Squeenix - Square map but also has options to remove all the usless crap arrond it
Trinketmenu - Shows trinkets duh. Lets you bind them and auto swap on cooldown if needed.

95% of the mods i use are all Ace and can be updated auto througha tool called wowmatrix (http://www.wowmatrix.com/). Has a search fuction built in and will download and install mods without you having to go to a web page.

Screen taken after 3.0 but before wrath

Forte - if you're just after dottimers then Quartz has them built in.
Omni CC - love it
Bt4 - love it
Parott... much prefer this to SCT but only tried it after your recommendation, need to tweak the functionality because it's too comprehensive out of the box.
Minimalist - I use sell-o-matic for selling greys, a lot smaller but lots of less functionality
Broker mods... looks like a ballache... for me Fubar works ok at the moment, I'll migrate when I can be bothered.
You don't need grid if you have healbot, so I'm deleting that from mine
Didn't know Trinket menu was working again... cool

I was just looking at Brokers - http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/i ... okers.html
and I see from wowmatrix that tehre's loads of other brokers/data streams if I should chose.

However, on reading the WoWI page, it seems that I need a display mod (like fubar/button bin/etc) as well as the actual broker streams, is that right?

That's right, you need a mod to display all the broker addons.

I use fortress http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... tress.aspx

If you like buff timer mods and warning tools etc. then take a look at Power Auras http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/i ... assic.html

It may not look like much at first but it's really really customisable and looks great. I have it set to display all kinds of information about what's going on in the fight. Like whether or not my serpent sting is up on the target, and whether or not anyone's hunter's mark is on it.

It's brilliant for giving visual clues as to when short duration buffs are active, like the Mirror of Truth trinket proc buff or my pet's Ferocious Inspiration (changing talent specs around and need to check it's not crit starving my spirit beast etc).

You can animate the auras on and off, have timers displayed with them, monitor mana/energy/rage/etc and use them for conditionals. For instance, I have a blue glow over me when I have Aspect of the Viper on and I turn it super-bright when I'm back over 50% mana, if I have Aspect of the Dragonhawk on I have a funky red symbol over me and turn it bright blue and increase the size when my mana drops below 15% (which it rarely does in raid situation, at least till they put in the mana regen changes, so I've stopped paying attention to mana :)). Also, having a really big pulsing one displayed (!) when I've forgotten to put an Aspect on or not set tracking to something that gives me bonus damage (like humanoid, dragonkin etc) is a great visual clue :)

I have a series of different coloured aura rings around my char to show which high-cooldown abilities I have available too.

I have all these configured to only show if I'm in combat (and some only in a raid group) so when you're just puttering around your screen is nice and clear.

You can also detect bufss/debuffs/whatever on a specific amed target in your group/raid, just your enemy target, your focus, etc, even your raid as a whole so you could monitor if your raid isn't fully buffed by the buff you give...

Anyway, get it and play, it's fun if nothing else.

Does anyone know of a self cast mod that still works these days?
I used to use Telo's SelfCast and had been using that since the dawn of time and even tho Telo stopped working on his mods years ago it still seemed to work all through Burning Crusade.

However, it doesn't seem to work anymore in WotLK, and neither does a supposedly working updated version of it called Simple SelfCast.

All I reall want is whenever I click on or press the shortcut key for a beneficial buff/heal spell (like Arcane Intellect, Power Word: Fortitude, or even bandages) and I don't have a target selected, it automatically casts it on me.

I know for the most part you can right click a spell to get the same effect, but I want it to work off left click as that's how I've done it for years and i'm used to it.

Erm, you do not need an addon for that purpose. I have not used one for ages, because the game itself offers that behaviour. In the current version of WoW, you can activate "automatic self cast" in the interface options, under "combat".

Lolz.
That's what not playing for a year does I guess.
I keep forgetting that Blizz are often adding features that you used to need mods for.

Cheers Jurgen. :)

I've succumbed and bought WotlK which has meant sorting a few outdated mods out. In case they are of use to anyone else...

Deleted: BagStatusMeters, replaced with BagSlots (shows free bag slots)
Deleted: CT_Mailmod, replaced with MailGet (opens all mail and grabs all attachments with 1 click)
Deleted: EquipCompare (mouse over items to compare with equipped items), replaced with tekKompare (yes I know you can hold shift now, but this mod is 'always on').
Deleted: Petster (one click pet feed button), not replaced as with my pet spec my pet is always completely ecstatic

For my Paladin I am loving ZOMGBuffs for buff management. It takes a short while to get used to, but once set up they way you like it is very easy to use.
Added: Tipsy (allows me to place the tooltip anywhere)

Didn't notice anyone mention Omen - are people using something else now? I'm still using that when I'm tanking. Lets you know who to shout at when people are over-threating in raids.
