Wading right back in with info about mounts here, costs are as follows;
lvl 40 riding skill (lvl 75), 90g
lvl 60 epic riding skill (lvl 150), 600g
lvl 70 flying mount skill (lvl 225), 800g
lvl 70 epic flying mount skill (lvl 300), 5000g
In order to get each skill you must have bought the one before, so costs are cumulative.
lvl 70 flying mount, 100g
lvl 70 epic flying mount, 200g
Discounts for faction are not uncluded above.
Therefore the TOTAL all time cost for an epic flying mount, excluding the cost of buying any other mount, is 5000 + 800 + 600 + 90 + 200 = 6690g, without discounts.
Assuming you already have an epic riding mount then it's 6000g for an epic flying mount you can actually ride. For a normal flying mount if you already have en epic riding mount then it's 900g.
You may wish to note that a standard flying mount will give you a 60% speed boost on land and in the air, but an epic flying mount will give you a 100% speed boost on land, but 280% in the air.
Druids can get the Stormcrow flying ability at level 68 which is equivalent speed to a standard flying mount (60%). No idea what they have to go through to get it.
