It seems a change to the way honour in AV was allocated has been spread by Blizzard to all areas of mob killing. Basically if you're in a group you need to hit each mob or heal someone hitting that mob otherwise you get no XP for it and no loot rights.

This is on the test server now and the test server rules become the public server rules when Bliz decide they've got things right.

Currently it's not been stated wether it's a test server bug or not. Assuming it's not...

This will be tough for rogues in instances who will want to make sure they hit all mobs in a pull to get loot rights and xp, mages will AoE at silly places to ensure they tag the mob, and there will be general mayhem and bad aggro management.

It seems this guys statements are all true (he was asking at the time)

Scenario:
UBRS - Drakk Pull.

The Hunter pulls Drakk, OT hits right Guard, Remaining Raid hits left Guard.

IF the hunter DOESN'T hit either Guard, he gets no credit for killing them?

IF the OT only hits the right Guard, he gets no credit for the left Guard, & IF they die before hitting Drakk, they get no credit?

IF people die before Drakk comes back, and they don't hit him, they get no credit for his death?

Hmmm, I can see this being an issue, as it leads to everyone trying to Tag the mobs, to make sure they get credit, rather than using any form of tactics or CC.

An additional problem seems to be if the master looter does not get tag the mob then NO-ONE can loot the corpse. bit of an arse if he goes down just before a boss dies.

So this means,
1) The absolutely best way to tag every mob, is to (body)pull everything. So tanks will be save, although mages with sheep pull, etc...
2) If you did not pull, your top priority has to be to find the one who pulled (or any other party member who has a garanted tag on all mob besides the puller) and heal or buff him. That will give you a tag on all his tagged mobs.
3) If you can not find or buff/heal the one who pulled (tagged all), the only way to tag every mob is to damage/debuff every mob, with AoE or one by one.

Currently there are various threads asking for a Bliz response, people want to know if this is a bug or not;

Fun fun fun, probably just a bug but you never know...

I so wish I were still playing a game where the developers saw fit to keep changing the gameplay as they saw fit. Why add content when you can 'fix' everything.

Well Bliz have stated words to the effect of "this will be fixed in 1.10" which IMO could be taken either way :)

I think people are over-reacting a bit :P

Its a bit daft to think Blizz would implement that to the game.
On the test server they can do whatever the hell they want.

Isn't that a large part of the definition of the word 'forum'? :)
