Just in case any of you have plans for tonight...
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the overall performance of our European platform we will relocate the following Realms to a different data centre. This transfer will start during tomorrow's maintenance (Wednesday, 11th January):

Arthas
Azshara
Blackmoore
Blackrock
Gilneas
Kargath
Khaz'goroth
Lothar

As a safety precaution, the Realms listed below will also be taken off-line whilst this data transfer takes place. We expect all of these Realms to be unavailable for approximately 24 hours from the start of the maintenance. These Realms are scheduled to be back on-line by the morning of Thursday, 12th January and we will notify you in advance in the event of an early or delayed completion.

As a result of this inconvenience, all players with an active character on the affected Realms will be receiving a two-day game time extension. Players with an active character on the Realms that have experienced performance issues will be receiving an additional two-day time extension to a total of four days time extension. These include the eight realms listed above and those realms marked as receiving four days extension in the list below.

We'd like to thank you for your continued patience and support while our team work on resolving these issues and finding an effective long-term solution.

English realms
Ahn'Qiraj (2 days game time extension)
Bronzebeard (2 days game time extension)
Chromaggus (2 days game time extension)
Dentarg (2 days game time extension)
Drak'thul (2 days game time extension)

My bet is that Blizz made some fuck up during preparation to 1.9 (some architecture change or whatsever) and when it went live the glorious plan to makes things better (cheaper in maintenance? ;)) became SNAFU.

I still can not pass Success! screen in peek hours after 1.9.1 or get on their WoW site. Looks like corporate optimization plan was implemented (cost cut - as the only method :P).

I'd expect the rest to come down at some point too, since the lag problems have not been fixed in the slightest!

I dunno how they'd work out free game time per server, so assuming it just counts toward your account as a whole, unless anyone knows different. I've got two low level characters on Bronzebeard so hopefully will get some free time :D

Approx 30-40 k people from the servers which are down are trying to log their alts on the other ones - it is enough to screw all.

From 1 week now I can not get on the servers during peek hours at all. Today i was blocked already at 5:30 game time - so it does not bode well ;).

They said "active characters on the affected server", so I'd guess they'll have some decinition of that "X hours in last Y time" that they'll sort on their characters dba nd apply the time in that way.

It is the tricky part - because I can not log for last 7-8 days is my char already inactive? :P

So you both are responsible for creating additional load on servers and not allowing me to play :P.

I see a major improvement. First time from the previous Tuesday I was able to get to the game during peak hours. Maybe after next series of patches I will be also able to interact in the game, which now is impossible :P.
