Hi all,

Starting from 1.9 (or maybe one night earlier - this really puzzles me off) I face huge problems with the game. FPS rate dropped in busy areas from ~30 to ~20, and the worst is I have regular lag spikes lasting from 5 to 20 sec (sometimes discnnected), not counting a lot of smaller - 2-3 sec. ones.

Does anybody experience similar problems or is it only me?

I already checked that it is not my ISP, maybe some of my old add ons mess with the game.

Plz update me if yu also have similar problems after the patch.

Regards
v66

No, I just encounter server lag sometimes. You know, trying to loot and having to wait several seconds before the window pops up or the loot appears in my inventory.

That is no new effect of 1.9 for me.

Just to test something, drag everything out of your add ons folder to a folder external to WoW and play for a bit, see if the lag spikes vanish. Don't worry you won't lose any settings or anything. If it goes you know you have a problem with an add-on. The first thing you would try then is increasing the memory allocation to add-ons.

I had terrible lag yesterday without any addons, and the people I was speaking with were experiencing the same thing. I hope it was a transient server problem and not a general issue with the new release.

The servers today have been terrible, they've actually announced major restrictions on lots of them - no new people and lowered connection limits (concurrent connections) to try and help. This means more queing but supposedly a better experience when you're in. Even so tonight was horrendous on Stormrage with a 300 long queue, 5-10 mins to pull up your chars on the char selection screen, and 5-10 mins to enter the game.

Part of the announcement is here, and part when you log on;

I've been having troubles getting Out Of Combat lately, it's taking a lot longer than it used to (annoying when grinding). Apart from that DB isn't really having any troubles apart from area's getting the lagbat due to 100 man raids clashing on eachother >_<
I'd rather dance with you

Thx for response. It looks that my problems are partly due to servers and partly to my adons. I removed most of them (was unable to find 1.9 versions), repaired ShardTracker, and it looks like I have less problems. Still DB/AH is sometimes terrible. Will have to test a little longer, but hope it will come to the standard performance - someday ;).

Fishing seems to be the only thing unaffected by all this lag, it's ace :D

I'm getting the exact same huge pauses via, and it's really fecking annoying. The client will just lock up totally for 3-4 seconds, then run fine. Happens a lot, regardless of zone ...

I havent tried removing any addons, as I'd rather play with a pausing game than the vanilla gui tbh.

I get the occasional freezes but it doesn't happen just to me everyone in that zone is also effected, I think there is an issue with the new patch and an update will be fourth coming.

Other than that performance for me is pretty good, only addon I use is CT mod and the components that go with it and nothing else.

What I suffer from more than anything is random disconnections only to find my isp needs to re dial and I am on broadband, any ideas what would cause that?

Funny thing is that often I freeze during logging on the "Success!" screen after authentication. So when I feel down I just have to try to log to WoW and will get this message for few minutes to warm my heart. After this i have disconnect message, but in few seconds I can bring the "Success!" screen back :P.

One thing I had to disable is the version of ShardTracker I was using. I found a replacement, but it doesn't work as nicely as the version I used before.

I have found on the CurseGaming (or whatever the name of the site is) in the comments to the ShardTracker download short description what to do to make Shardtracker work in 1.9. It was just removing one string from 3 places of a specific file (I can not check it at this moment). I do not know if all functionalities work - but at least id does not produce error message ;).

Maybe this can help:

Subject: Re: CTRA b1.5 lag hiccups? help

Try disabling the profanity filter. If this fixes it, it's not a CTRA issue, and will be taken care of in the 1.9.1 update.
