I mean it's a bloody long trip even if you fly it there, and at level 1 they'll hav an aggro radius of about 900 miles so will be pulling every mob in the world and being one shotted.

I am assuming they a) have mates and b) they are Warlocks.

Either that or they are dieing an awful lot.

I might just need to buy it I think - bloody fileplanet sucks.

Waited in line for 60 minutes last night to start the download and then it failed. Might be due to Mozilla or Norton, I don't know.

Will see if I can get a copy in the next week or so :)

Naked die/spawn. In most cases, the sea is the best route along the coast, as only aggroing fish in certain areas.

If you generally like the sound if it Ron, I'd recommend buying it and just getting stuck in. I got it for £25 from Gameplay…very much a late starter like you.

I just picked the first sever that the game recommended. The problem with choosing something like Al'Akir (for PvP in particular) or one of the other well-established servers is that you're always going to be up against high level players, and there will potentially be less people to group with for dungeon quests and instances. I tried Al’Akir for a while but I just didn’t enjoy getting pasted by lvl 40+ alliance players while at lvl 10.

That’s neither here nor there though. Go buy it, and enjoy.

Quinnbeast you should never ever be touched by 40 plus character at level 10 since you are protected up until level 20 anyway unless you choose to take your pvp immunity off that is which is a very stupid idea.

Regardless where you go any pvp server you will be ganked by some muppet higher than you, AL Akir is actually one of the better ones where while it does happen its not as bad as a great deal of them out there, the worst I have played on is twilight hammers that is full of ganking fuckwits.

With regards to groups and the like, there are masses of players at all levels looking for groups on Al Akir, either it be total noobs or experienced players playing their alts to have a break from their main.

After level 10 and you hit the barrens which is where the vast majority go from 10 onwards it gets social and groups are easy to come by.

Whatever you do don't turn your pvp immunity off early and don't attack if you are in a safe zone, they can taunt and do what they like but can't touch you until you do, however enter a contested zone then its a free for all but you are given fair warning where you are so just go back into a safe zone.

Thanks for the tips guys.

Well I managed to download the trial off fileplanet last night.

So I will install and patch away tonight, probably Friday night before I manage to get logged on :)

Advice ronaldo...
(for when you buy it and start a character to get to L60)
Here's my list of your chances of getting into groups... each guild has it's own needs but generally speaking: (top = most sought after for groups)

Priests
Warriors
Druids
Mages
Warlocks
Shaman
Hunter
Rogues

Druids above warriors in my view, I know that both Vets and aztecs do struggle with them in end game, and druids can tank any instance to 53ish also and provide solid heling cover, so good to get groups all teh way through the game.

Undead priest then?

Don't like the look of Orc's or Tauren's. So it's between Troll's or Undead.

Undead are very popular, all my chars are undead (except my druid, no choice but giant comedy cow for those on horde unfortunately - i hate tauren :P ).

Undead have the coolest starting area, the coolest voice emotes, and the coolest capital city, and useful (although recently fking nerfed) racial abilities (all in my opinion of course).

Although, trolls are pretty cool too.

Unfortunately, instead of looking like fearsome powerful warriors, orcs just look fat.
And tauren, well... see above about the giant comedy cows, plus they have the most rediculous looking mounts.
If orcs and tauren were more like they were in WC3 then they would be far better imo.

Undead are excellent for health regen from using the cannibalize ability on undead/humanoids

Also Trolls have an irritating accent.... Their accent is to Jamaican what Dick Van Dyke is to Cockney.

"oot of mana mon"

also remember that if you're a priest you'll be healing more than Nuking, so if you're a mindless damage dealer then don't go for it.... you're a medic so you'll be fine. I'm a gren spamming medic who never used a med pack so I went for a lock
