Finally I get to level 59. To my surprise grinding exp is not hard (I got 20% to 60 by collecting 10 worn dragonscales in Azahara) so I started dropping quests from my log which are not chained and gives only exp.

Now I am looking what to do next. Profession - takes damn long to level up (I am at 260 now), so rather something giving gear in more direct way. I have to look on Thott for some good quest chains (some good rewards comes from Eastern Plaguelands)

People are talking about "reputation" with some factions and I would like to know which way to go as a casual hunter. Any tip or better link where I can learn more will be highly appreciated.

And certainly - if some raids or not too hard high level instances are organized i am more then interested.

Regards

Pick up raids aren't too bad - being a raid you very rarely wipe.

UBRS / Scholo / Strath - Would need to do at least 10 raids on each to get all the kit you would ever need.

DM is 5 man only but some of the gear you can pick up is quite uber

EP/WP quests are easy enough for XP

Reputation can be important to buy some recipes from e.g. Argent Dawn, Thorium brotherhood or the Cenarion Circle. When I got revered with Argent Dawn I was able to buy enchants for shoulders (+5 of either fire/cold/arcane/shadow/nature), and the trolsz on the island off the coast at Zul'Gurub also offer some pretty cool enchants.

When you get very very friendly with them.

It is exactly what I was looking for. Where can I find info which faction gives what rewards?

I know that PvP battlegrounds are popular for grinding. Any info which can give reward for a casual gamer?

Thx Kazz. After reading it I am ... unimpressed.

Some info about rewards from battlegrounds are on the wow-europe site. The thing I do not know is which of the battlegrounds (WG, AB, AV) is suitable for a casual player? Info from an experienced player will be very helpful.

Thx mate - looks like I have all the basic info I was looking for.

Thx to all who contributed - not so few are in my position (late 50's or just turned 60), so I hope all this info is highly looked for.

regarding battlegrounds.
alterec valley has a few decent rewards at lower levels for a hunter.

at honoured:

necklace +15 stam and +18 attack power

cloak 43 armour +11 stam +24 attack power +5 frost resistance

frostwolf mail belt 199 armor, +12 agility +12 stamina +12 intellect +5 frost resistance

those are easy to get as hitting revered is very quick (assuming you win which is often the case)

downside is that they can take a long time to do and queues tend to be long.

that would be my 1st port of call if i was you m8 :)

Never been in a game which we have won yet since right at the end and the alliance know they are going to lose the wankers log out, the game finishes and says unable to finish bg due to lack of numbers, this should be sorted imo, as its a diliberate act.

On a side note if paladins get on your tits and you can't beat them, well do it the easy way make sure you have a priest to silence them, you then have 20 seconds to beat the shit of them which is usually more than enough time to kill them, because they are unable to cast anything in that time and a potion isn't going to be enough :).

All the BGs are fun in my view.

I managed to equip my alt Redbull using BGs only (since getting instances as a shaman is not easy).

If you're going for exalted then research the rewards before you pick one.

Just my view, but:

AV

takes ages
most complex
is pretty zerg-tastic
a little co-ordination goes a LONG way (heal those warriors!)
easiest to get to exalted
horde nearly always seems to win on A'a for some reason

AB

short sharp fun
much smaller group combat
gets very repetitive
a couple of very dangerous alliance teams out there
takes roughly 9 days of your life to get to exalted

WSG

my current favourite
can be short - can take a while - very unpredictable
similar overall experience in terms of balance tactics / pvp / size of battle to AB
very shite rewards
quite handy for farming CP
only seems to be up on WSG weekends
Al'Akir: Straylight (mage)
The others: Aeviar (mage) / Redbull (shaman) / Sanctuary (priest) / Hammerstein (warrior) / Deliverance (warlock) / Damedelac (rogue)

afaik you get 100 rep including winners reward per game?
thats like 420 games?
how can you possibly play that many in 9 days?

9 x 24 = 216 hours

216 hours/2 hours per day pvping = 108 days real time!

how have people got to exalted so quickly then?

10+ hours a day non stop ab?

crys

I can't recall exactly how I did the maths, but it was something like

(21k+12K+6k+3K) rep needed @ 130 rep / game

42k/130 games needed = 323 games

9 days = 216 hours

323 games in 216 hours = 1.5 games / hour (ignoring the trivial bonus rep you get for the "capture 3" and "capture 4" bases quests.
