32 now. I was 16 when I discovered TFC. Something something something half life.

Stuff's ok. I worked on LBP3 which launched at the end of last year. My friends keep getting married/divorced, producing kids, that sort of shit. Bit worrying to be honest. Still, there's always wanking, isn't there?

Weird, that's what I used to say when I was playing TFC against 16 year olds.

Still alive (just).

Been poked and prodded and scanned and tested, numerous CT scans of different sorts, 3x bone marrow and 3 x biopsy and they still don't know what is wrong with my blood.

Maybe I fried myself in front of my crt monitor for too many hours playing TFC.

Howdy, old fuckers (inc. CC!)

I think I'm much the same as everyone here that's Of An Age. Had to grow up, do sensible things. Get a pension. etc. I was 17 when TFC rolled around and I'm 33 now.

Everything's a bit grown-up and tiresome compared to calling Biggz a prick on Roger Wilco, climbing a tree after eating two pizzas, hanging on in quiet desperation for a spot on the ~A~ server, or writing excuses-laden match reports. I think CC summed it up -- right time, right game. It was ridiculous how much I cared about that game and its community; it was the best of times (met some great characters like DW/BiA crew) and the worst of times (constantly losing to =BC= in our last year! Fuck you, Jockey the dog. Fuck you).

Anyone care to venture how many hours we spent on TFC and its related activities? I dread to think. Given I managed 1400 hours of BF2 in 3 years, I reckon I'd have been well into the 4-5k range for TFC given I played for a good 4-5 years. I've dabbled with FF, BF2, L4D, BF3 & TF2 over the years, but nothing comes close to TFC. It gave me a huge amount of fun and a passion for level design that eventually turned into software development, so it had a good effect.

I took the Kaz route and started lifting maybe 3 years ago, too (shotty spam!!11). More interested in deadlifts, dips, squats and chin-ups than games these days. Can't rule out playing another game seriously, but I think my competitive spirit died post-TFC when I became aware of the concept of my own ridiculousness, and how much of a time-sink the whole thing had been.

Howdy! Yeah, the responsibilities will get to you in the end.

I had so much fun in TFC and the Wireplay community in general. I'd been at it for a while when I broke my leg and then it was all I did for a while (couldn't do much else). It certainly stopped me getting bored but along the way made some great friends in online gaming circles that persist to this day.

Odd as it is I stuck with gaming and shit after a decade of playing wow, 4-5 years of being on a random schedule where I never knew I was home and then 2 -3 more years of shit internet I got onto the steaming bandwagon I'm small and no one gives a shit but it does provide me with some much needed laughs outside of the misery that is being a computer janitor.
Get up you son of a bitch! 'Cause Mickey loves you!

Just caught up on this thread. I think oddly the thing that killed TFC (well the community fun that we kept going looooong after the game) was Facebook. I get similar japes just in a less isolated environment. Though I find I hold my tongue massively more, epsecially on politics and stuff...

Far better smilies here too.
