you don't have to do any of that though

you auto join games with crew and or friends playing but if you dont you can just play with randoms and I've not had any real problems doing missions with matchmade people.

But I mean you gave it a go for an hour so I'm sure I just missed something.

In the hour or so I had though I had someone trying to do a shoot out during a car race (on foot) and someone sticky bombing the exit of los Santos customs. Wasn't exactly blown over by the whole experience but as you love being a dick I'm sure this game is perfect for you.

Criminal activity? In my GTA?

PROTIP: Don't stay in freeroam for longer than you need to.

Anyway to tonster:

The thing to remember about properties is that you are unlikely to ever make more money than you paid for them.

Their use as far as I can work out is to help towards the 100 percent mark and to give you some random missions to do whilst you are off trying to find all packages or jumps or something - to stop you getting bored.

I've encountered none of these problems yet. Had a few people run me over or shoot me in freemode, but that's to be expected.

Oh and Phats drove my personal car into the sea during a mission, but he's a known griefer so it's also expected. :)

The worst I had was someone camping by simeon's garage because I had the high priority vehicle and he sniped me driving up to it

I don't see anything wrong with that though tbh. It would be frustrating yes, but it's an open world game so any way you can think of to get the objectives is fair enough I reckon.

The way I see it, most things are legit reasons to fight in freeroam without it constituting as griefing.

Simeon's cars, crate drops, armoured cars etc are put in the game to entice conflict. They're not instanced like missions, they offer fast cash (even if it is only chump change) and they're a global event. They're put in the game specifically to make you fight one another, or work together, whatever floats your boat.

Griefing is going above and beyond the call:

Blocking people in shops (fuel tanker lock-in)
Camping mission exits (aka Gerald's free money house)
Dumping cars in the sea (Sorry 666! Genuine mistake, honest guv!)
Indirectly blowing up cars (theres a myriad of ways to do this)
Air support/mercenary abuse (expensive but funny as fuck)
...And so on

Basically, anything that costs the other player money should be seen as griefing and only then when its excessive. Bursting someone's bubble because they're a social recluse or can't start an invite only session is not griefing, and the only thing you lose by players being a dick in missions is time.

Anyway, quick tip for easy money that won't get you asset stripped when Rockstar start datamining for duping...

When you get the 'Out Of Court Settlement' mission from Martin, don't pick up the evidence after you've killed the lawyer. Instead take his car and dump it in your garage. Steal another car then go back, pick up the evidence and finish the mission as usual. As well as the 9k payout you'll be able to sell the lawyers car for 22k.

The testing the cops mission for lester also gives you a car with bullet proof tyres which you can take as your own.

Also putting sticky bombs on the front of someone's car and waiting for them to bump into stuff can be fun

It's also fun to get a bounty on yourself then go to your house and watch tv so you can spectate the server while everyone gets into a fight with each other to be the one person alive waiting for you to come out

Oh and leave your car unlocked and then make it invite only when someone gets in it and drives off

I still can't get enough of hooking people with the cargobob. Dumping them in the sea, sticking them on top of skyscrapers or just dropping them at high speed/altitude. I honestly don't think that will ever get old.

You've not played Jenga until you've played it with people's cars on top of the FIB building.

Yeah so basically only free roam if you have at least one other person with you to watch your back

But do missions on your own if you want

You beaut! Owing to staggered investments I'm not sure what the rate of return has been but I'm sitting on over 100k more than I had a few days ago.

Now, about my pension fund options...

Sad but true. I'm up to Madrazo's first mission and had to do one of Lester's assassination missions because it wouldn't let me progress any further. The game throws money making opportunities at you if you're on the ball.

You have to do the first Lester mission apparently but the rest should be left. After doing the storyline then the assassination missions followed by taking the guy to the airport each character had around $2.14 Billion spending money.

So I gathered, but it's a big percentage increase on what I had in a short space of time.
