Guess who dived in, eyes wide shut, and learned that you net each stooge $30m odd by the end of the story.

Yeah, fuck you guys and your protips.

I don't have any pro tips

because you get silly money at the end of the game

and by the end of the game there's nothing to buy except property

and the property doesn't do anything

GTA Online is where the fun is

Probably, I wouldn't know as the complete bastards won't allow me to connect. Not in the morning, not in the evening.

The property would have been useful if they'd integrated it into the story properly but unless there is some DLC where they rethink their errors it's going to be the domain of platinum trophy diehards.

I did the one mission for the taxi company because there's an achievement for it. and I did a couple of the jobs for the others because I hoped it would increase the weekly profits but nope

Apparently if you buy the car towing company you have to tow 300 vehicles, 1 mission at a time, to break even.

So far nothing I've done this weekend on online has saved. Lost a few levels, money and time. Until they fix the cloud saves its really not worth putting any time or effort into. And the latest patch just made things worse.

Well congratulations. Me on the other hand have levelled from 5 to 6 about 7 times nothing I've done being saved. Totally fed up even tried this morning and got stuck in clouds following a mission then dropped from online only to log back in at level 5 again.

So will just give it a miss I think. There is pointless grinding for money and then there is pointless grinding for getting nothing at all.

Is this game 'very' likely to go to PC?

It's probably my age, but I just can't get on with those controller things that you young people like to use when you are visiting milk bars and listening to Glenn Miller and all that Devil's music.

I'd be amazed if it didn't hit PC. All previous versions have.

FWIW I am largely a n00b when it comes to console controllers. My first few hours of GTA were really just 3D pinball but I soon got the hang of it. A while back I played co-op Call of Battlefield Modern Soldier Sim on a mates Xbox - At first it was all I could do to make my player not aim at the sky or his feet, but a couple of hours later I was on a par with only the occasional spaz out.

I still can't fly the GTA helicopters for shit though. More wobble than a jellycopter.

It's taken me a while to get over the low res of my PS3, but once my brain overcame that I have to say the game really does look impressive on a 40" TV, it makes my 20" PC monitor feel completely inadequate. And being able to play in bed is awesome. The only down side for me was the price, I'm not used to paying £40 for games these days! Worth it though.

Had a quick spin on this on my mate eggsbox. It was good but didn't inspire me to go shell out the major dosh for my PS3.

Still grinding me way through a stash of blockbuster preowned circa £4 each the latest favourite being Colin McRae dirt2 which is kinda cool if you like racing games. Glaring absence of helicopters though. Can't think why :?

Gran Turismo 5 has lovely graphics, but still like my FPS like Battlefield 3 and Medal of honour although Assassin Creed brotherhood was a good game as well. Cheap way of getting some good games if you don't mind not having the latest offerings.

Well idk it was working for me.

I mean there was a bit where it was saying it couldn't save but that lasted like ten minutes and I started a mission and finished it and after that it went away

if this gets ported up to the next gen consoles then I'd expect it to get a PC release then too

It's pretty weird by all accounts ref, what happens at times is you log out and when you go back in none of your previous session has saved. But then the character seems to catch up with the saves (if you check the social club stats) giving back some xp and levels.

I had another go this afternoon and it seemed to go all ok but will see what happens tomorrow.

I had that can't connect to cloud followed by save successful but it didn't seem to have saved.

Been stuck in clouds following missions and stuck on loading screens for missions. Considering the money the game has made they should be throwing some of it to fix the many problems but their focus seems to be on fixing exploits and reducing mission payouts.

Also unusually gta online somehow manages to disconnect me from Xbox live (others have reported the same) giving another way to lose levels and money.

I think I've got a better understanding of how GTA:O saves your online progress after doing some glitching (because fuck Jewstar's funbucks, I want an Annihilator on tap).

Basically, if you don't get the orange saving icon your cloud data hasn't been saved, and only certain things will force that save. Oddly enough missions don't seem to force it. The game also saves your data based on the particular session you're in. Which I'm guessing why its possible to glitch selling cars for infinite cash and why mission progress is sometimes not saved (because they're instanced and not tied to the session you're in).

The best way to play it is:

a) Don't do a huge string of missions in a row before returning to freeroam.

b) When you do return to freeroam, force a save by modding your car or buying some clothes before you quit.
