64 quid? Jesus, I hate living in London :(

After much gnashing of teeth and lambasting/railing against the game Dark Souls, I finally think it's the dogs bollocks.

Just saw this review on Zero Punctuation .. very apt.

Demons/Dark souls are ace the only issue I have with them is the time you need to put into them I did NG++ on Demons but with Dark I just couldn't find the time to finish it because I spent ages farming shit although I did play through it 360 and then again on PC so that counts as 2 playthroughs :P but I cheated my way through the bits id played on the 360 with cheatengine. The Giantbomb guys have been doing a lets play/breaking Brad of both which have been entertaining. Looking forward to DS2 although I wish it was on PS4 as well then id have an excuse for getting a new console.

Thats all I needed.......been sat on £600 worth of amazon vouchers for a month and just needed the excuse to burn it on a console rather than something adult like lube although £600 of lube might be amusing you could fill up a swimming pool with it.

Get ready for that buyer's remorse chief...

In fairness its a nice piece of kit. It just suffers from nogaems at the moment.

Theres some sweet stuff lined up though. 'IF' Demon's Souls 2 ever sees the light of day, or is even called Demon's Souls 2 by then (I can't see Atlus letting that name go just for a PS4 exclusive), theres Deep Down. Which looks like it will fill the void left by Dragon's Dogma quite nicely.

I can't really get excited about Dark Souls 2. Dark Souls just wasn't fun to play when you compare it to Demon's and if it the sequel carries on down the path of being grindy and casual then fuck that, no thanks. From got it right the first time; black world tendency, no bonfires, final destination.

Dark Souls fun ? ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE FUN. WHO EVER SAID IT WAS FUN :flame:

Oh .. and I pre-ordered a DS2 steam key, hoping that's even less fun. I shall need another gum shield.

Fun as in 'fuck you'.

Dark Souls - A bit rapey, but gets you where you need to go after a massive detour. Like a Turkish taxi driver.

Demon's Souls - Voltaire's Angry Glove.

Its like comparing Balamory to Scum.

Anyone got a game recommendation for a very occasional gamer... I'm not going to have enough time to play all these so really need to choose one, any recommendations for:

Thief?
Tomb Raider?
Anything else on Xbone? (my son's playing lego marvel and PVZ so that doesn't count as me playing it)
That's The REVEREND Dr. Kazza to you.

Yeah thats why I haven't got one yet, TitanFall was going to be my reason to get the Xbone but again I just can't bring myself to do it, im thinking this time round getting a PS4 for most games and just getting the Xbone for exclusives.

Kazza -
Thief is ok, its not amazing its more like 3 was than 1 or 2 however its fun but its not really a pick up and play for 10 minutes game its a few hours per level thing if you get into it. If you don't like slow paced but want a sneak em up game get dishonoured (if you haven't already played it). that being said i'm loving it and Thief 2 is still one of my all time fav games but I wasn't expecting a LGS game with this.

Tomb Raider is actual good but its more like Uncharted than the original Tomb Raider games.

Assassins Creed 4 is supposed to be very good...although that might be because its basically the pirates meets ninjas game and the internet denizens as a whole seem to get moist pants over that.

If its PC games and you like minecraftalikes then Starbound is quite good fun and you can spend 10 minutes here and there with it.

The new Southpark game is good fun but ONLY if you like southpark (obviously).

I bought Daikatana on Steam.

It was cheap.

I had just listened to Masters of Doom an audiobook (very very interesting) about Mssrs Carmack and Romero's development of the FPS. It relates that Daikatana was almost universally hated. I felt I maybe hadn't given it a chance, and for the lulz would take another look.

Well, I hated it then, and I shouldn't have doubted my memory. It was outstandingly shit AND it made me feel motion sick. Dire.

Give me a good hard session of Gunman Chronicles anyday. Actually no don't.

Bad game is bad.

Daikatana was said to fall foul of coming out too late. however, had it come out when it was supposed to .. oh wait. it still would have been shit.

I remember downroading it, and thought . holy crap .. romero .. what did you do ...
