I feel a lot better about being 51 in September, cheers you older bastards.

Fucking hell, first post in this forum was 2003. we've out done wireplay forums, gameplay, gamespy, planethalflife (shit .. planethalflife is still going  )

So nice to be able to swear with nonchalance in forums in this day and age.

I'm now 44, had a baby girl last year - oldest one just started uni (both much easier and much harder this time around). I'm now an exec at a movie company working on stuff like Godzilla and Detective Pokemon (high brow stuff lol). Hoping to be able to talk about where my company ended up last year (sold it to a big valley company), but it's all very big brother still - should be obvious enough next year that it will leak. 8 years, one marriage, one potential suicide back in 2014 when it all got too much. Anyone that's built their own business knows what it gets like, and anyone with investors knows what pricks they can be.

Getting married next year, third time lucky :) Finally bought a house, so I'm doing all the adulting things. For some reason, I thought I'd feel different by now, but in a revelation shared by nobody else, I'm basically the same person that I was 20 years ago. Older and wiser, but essentially the same - after a bunch of therapy and executive coaching, I've realised that that's perfectly normal. Guess I'm just a slow learner :)

Aside from that, just bought an electric scooter for my commute to Soho. Complete tech wanker but I love it :) Finished Spiderman, top class. Main recent gaming addiction is Dead Cells, but finally got that out of my system. Sekiro looks like the next big one for me, can never get enough of Soulsborne.

Now and then I get the urge to check back in here. I was going through a lot of 'stuff' when I joined Wireplay and TFC and our little community gave me something I really needed. Camaraderie perhaps, a sense of there being likeminded people in the world. I dunno - this is a weird braindump for a Wednesday morning. I just like checking back in and seeing that people still dip back in from time to time. Feels good man.

Shit this place is like the worlds best bottomless therapy bucket.

I'll go through mine someday when I can be arsed to make something coherent out of what ramblings I cling to. In the meantime behold therapy dawg, he holds an unhealthy balance of my life in his grubby paws at the moment but in many ways also saved me.

Fuck me, image and file handling on this hopelessly out of date BB is archaic :graham:

Nice dog dawg.

Nicely parented DoG.

Nice to see everyone else still turning up.

Shitty news about Kiwi.

Yeah, 20 years on, still pretty much the same as I was, just things ache more frequently and hangovers are 10 times worse.

Merry Xmas one and all, if you’re into that kind of thing. Keep :rolling:

Yuh, Kiwi, if you read this, I'm sorry to hear the sad news of your illness. May you fight back with the minimum of shotty spam.

If you really want to know how bad getting old feels, my MUM is 94 now, and has advanced vascular dementia. The fear of what may be to come is real. Losing your mind. Feels bad man.

Anyways fuckers, carpe diem, I hope you are all doing well and thanks for the happy times.

I thought I deleted the bookmark to this place years ago but apparently not.

Who would have thunk the members of the Wrestling Forum would still be going strong in our own channel when every other forum died a death (even though chat about wrestling died out years ago). Nowadays it's all about arguing Brexit, cricket, who's getting hitched/becoming a dad and best vidya games.

Who's laughing now?

Well no-one really, but ya know what I mean.

:naughty:

Another year passes. I have more or less retired from work just filling my time with some decent paying work when I get it.
Long since stopped the garage work as it bored me and was killing me. I converted the garage workshop and flat above into two semis which have both now been sold so made a bit but was hard graft and managing some of the Eastern European builders was at times frustrating. Took 4 long years and wanted to repeatedly hit the conservation guy with a large spade, fecking cock.

Just buying a modest bungalow along a ways still in south Devon but now to be in a small town after 10 years in a village that I hoped to stay in has just succeeded in boring me to death as its so dull. New woman together for 18 months, was single for 4 years and decided most women are barking mad when they get older so picking a sane one was tricky.

I ride my Blackbird motorcycle with the missus and do a bit of green lane riding round here on my KTM freeride when I am feeling fit enough, take the caravan out several time a year for holidays hauled behind my aged Navara truck. Daughter turns 30 next month and now living in OZ, son is still in UK but currently over on OZ and runs his own tech business and doing well. Life is okay. I have to say looking back I wish I hadn't listened to whinging women so much as they all turn sour and miserable, needy wanting things they are but my current women has been through the mill so has the right outlook.

I still have goals and ambitions but set the bar a lot lower these days. Pretty much feel satisfied with life but cruising ino old age is gonna be a toughie.

Stay loose.

Hay Folks,

So it's been a few years. I do think back to those times twenty odd years ago and they were really ace. I learnt a lot about being part of an online community and about hobbies that set me in good stead for a life of nerdom.

Right now I do load of table top roleplaying, lots of Savage Worlds (Rippers and a Walking Dead setting), Deadlands Classic, Cold and Dark (Alien/Aliens setting) (the aliens are fucking horrible), DnD (an ancient Greece setting and a Rune Quest adaptation), Pendragon (classic knights and a bent 70s cop setting). I've just started gming a Fantasy Flight Star Wars campaign.

I'm also doing lots of larp (yes lightning bolt, lightning bolt), between the LT and Empire. Really enjoying it, fighting, drinking, singing, plotting. The hobby has improved and grown in the sixteen years I've doing it, it's dangerously close to being noticed by the mainstream. The hobby is amazing, the people are lovely and I've just had so many moments of awesome I can't recommend it enough if you can get to one.

Me>>>

A fight I was in where we got spanked by a bijillion orcs. I play a healer so was getting people out at the back>>>

Video game wise, played fucket tonnes of BF3, then fucket tonnes of Rainbow Six Siege, mostly watch YouTube these days, not been in a computer game mood for a while. The Caribou49 on Xbox if want to add.

Car wise, just had my Skoda Fabia fixed, the DPF and water pump had gone, fixing it was close to how much the car is worth but ultimately less than trying to replace with something as good. Having a car not pootling around in limp home mode, pumping expensive coolant out is amazing.

Is Steff still around? I miss that spack. :P

Am pretty gutted. My dad passed away this year. My brother was then diagnosed with cancer (that should be sorted, but still). Another two mates have it, and to be honest they aren't looking good. I had really been hopeful that Kiwi would make it. His poor little girl. God.
